Frames aren't your thing? We've got you covered with comprehensive contact lens examinations. We take measurements of your cornea to evaluate the steepness and diameter in order to select the perfect contact to fit your eye shape. We then evaluate the fit and vision with our biomicroscope to ensure that the lens is fitting and moving appropriately. A poor contact lens fit/selection can cause discomfort, redness and even risk of infection.

GENERAL EYE EXAMS
Early detection of any disease process is key for successful treatment. We screen for many ocular diseases like glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, dry eye, pink eye (conjunctivitis) and ocular melanoma. As well as systemic (whole body) diseases such as diabetes, Sjogrens and other autoimmune diseases, and high blood pressure to name a few. Often the first signs of systemic disease is seen in the eyes, which is why annual eye exams are an integral part of monitoring and maintaining good health.
WHAT WE DO
Maybe you are someone who thinks wearing glasses is cool. Maybe you are someone who can't wear contacts. Maybe you're all of the above. Regardless, at Falls City Eye Care, we provide professional frame fittings for those individuals who are in need of a frame. We make sure the prescription is at the optimal level in your glasses so you can see as clear as possible. We use the latest technology in frame fitting to ensure that your measurements are as accurate as possible.
Dry eye has recently been moved from the classification of syndrome to disease due to the chronic (long term and consistent) nature and debilitating impact on the sufferers lifestyle. Dry eye disease does not have a cure, however there are treatments based on the type of dry eye and severity of the dry eye that can be used to make the patient more comfortable and control inflammation. A thorough dry eye evaluation including questionnaire, diagnostic testing, imaging and a treatment plan are important to successful treatment.
Ortho-K is a reversible vision correcting technique that uses corneal retainers to reshape the cornea (front surface of the eye). This retainer is worn at night, usually flattening the cornea, and during the day the patient has clear vision without the use of any contact lenses or glasses. This form of vision correction can also help slow down the progression of Myopia (nearsightedness) in children by up to 60%, this is important to reduce dependence on glasses throughout life, but more importantly high myopia is a risk factor for the development of glaucoma, cataracts, retinal holes and detachments, and other macular diseases.
